Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Network
We use SAP Business Network to manage suppliers and post-sourcing events (requests for quotes, proposals, and expressions of interest) through Ariba Discovery. We also use it to manage our organization's profile so suppliers can find us and our postings. This product helps make our proposal request visible to a large network of suppliers already using the system.
- Large network of suppliers.
- One place for suppliers to see other organizations posting.
- Ability to match based on categories.
- Duplication of supplier network IDs that cause confusion and issue.
- Ability to customize notification options for suppliers.
- Ease of use when replying to postings.
- It has caused duplication of suppliers in our system, resulting in clean-up and confusion when trying to send out RFxs.
- Ability to send one link to all our opportunities.
It has enabled us to send things to trading partners (such as performance surveys and our requests for proposals). It has helped, but feedback from trading partners is that it is not user-friendly.
Not yet, we have not used risk management from SAP.
It has given us greater visibility into potential suppliers, but we have not fully utilized SAP Business Network to its greatest potential.
SAP Business Network is not my favorite. It was selected due to its historic presence and public industry use.
