Oracle Cloud Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) helps enterprise IT and independent software vendor (ISV) developers rapidly build and deploy rich applications—or extend Oracle Cloud SaaS apps—using an enterprise-grade cloud platform based on the Oracle database and application server. Oracle Cloud Platform is presented by the vendor as a comprehensive, standards-based, fully integrated combination of Oracle and open source technologies to build, deploy, migrate, and manage a variety of different application workloads in the cloud at a lower operational cost.

For organizations with strict data residency, compliance, or latency requirements, Oracle Cloud Platform is also available within organizations' data centers, fully managed by Oracle.

  • Their Support system is very confusing. You will not get any good support from their agents or even on chat service.
  • Their platform is very confusing. You will have to wait for support for more than 3 days to get nonsense advice.
  • After launching your service from them, you will get suspended for no reason. You will not be able to contact support and the chat agents will just say you are suspended without any reason to say and disregard you.

Oracle Cloud Platform is not only versatile but also a very economical solution. You may be surprised how long your Oracle Cloud credits will last. As per my experience, they are consumed by cloud resources 20-30 times slower than credits of other cloud providers: Amazon, Google, Azure etc. From Oracle Cloud Platform, we are using the compute and docker registry. It allows us to address docker deployment, cloud server use, etc.
Pros
  • It is very economical compared with other clouds
  • We leverage the startup program with promotional services, so it is free
  • It has an intuitive interface
Cons
  • Some world regions seem underrepresented in compute availability regions
Likelihood to Recommend
It is very useful for certain processes: docker registry, cloud compute, etc. Startups could benefit to a large extent from Oracle Cloud Platform, in my opinion.

  • [More] templates / preset configuration for faster implementation and development[.]

Well suited for all [sizes] of companies as long as you have the right profiles to handle the deployment and [follow-up] of the project. With the release of training and [certification,] it is becoming easier to find such profiles Not well suited for [the] small and medium [enterprise] already fully running on competitors infrastructures as some services will not be [found] as easily (out of the box) compared to AWS, Azure or GCP[.]

We used Oracle Cloud Platform to maximize the number of user interaction with our various database tools as well as provide a central location for our clients to access data and reports. Its marriage between other Oracle stand-alone products was seamless and so our organization was able to adapt it very quickly and implement it across various departments.
Pros
  • Dramatically increases computing performance and as a result, it reduces any excessive IT costs
  • Integration of other Oracle products is easy and efficient
  • A user-friendly environment which also reduces any unnecessary IT support thus freeing up their time
Cons
  • Takes some time to fully integrate across a larger company, but this is more a reflection on how well a company's IT department handles this.
Likelihood to Recommend
We had been slowly implementing Oracle products to replace several existing systems and so we needed a platform that would work to integrate across all of these solutions. Our company is fairly large and we work with a variety of clients and vendors as well. We needed an easier way for everyone to access information and discuss what data and future integration were most appropriate.

  • No keyboard shortcuts
  • Visually unappealing
  • Limitations in integrating with other software
Likelihood to Recommend
This is perfect solution for remote sales teams to stay connected. I would not recommend if you need robust reporting capabilities. It is also not the most budget friendly, so the SMB market may not see the value.
