Overall Satisfaction with SAP Business Technology Platform

We are using it to migrate SAP Process Orchestration system into SAP Business Technology Platform and connect non SAP system over cloud to send data. We have a problem with the cost associated with the actual migration and assessment and finding the right resources with the actual expertise to support the assessment and migration.

Initial build for developer was hard to navigate but hands on solution enabled future usability seamless. Connection to third party software and application are easily integrated and worked well for non-SAP developers to deploy their applications easily on the runtime environment. I had the opportunity to limit the data flow and pass only the needed data.

We had some scenarios where we actually needed to know what is the actual cost associated with the migration and impact analysis of the current SAP PI/PO system and how the migration will be done without any downtime or impact for the actual production system. Dashboard with the assessment was really helpful.

Using SAP Business Technology Platform

5 - People from various departments like Solutions and basis team and business departments like Supply Chain Management and Finance department use BTP. These various departments use BTP to integrate with external vendors and processes. Manufacturing unit is also likely to use and rely on some of the functionalities and processes through BTP.
2 - People with vast applications development experience is highly preferred with knowledge in integration and cloud infrastructure knowledge. People with scripting experience and other software connecting to SAP have added advantage. People with knowledge on various data tools and sending data through middleware tools are preferred. Basis and Security combined as administrator is also needed.

Seamless integration with external system and dashboard to monitor the data flow and analysis are very essential for the business. The way the product is designed and modelled lead to minimum business disruptions. Adopting to the new and modern technology was easy. Keeping the central system as clean and adopting project bases development are advantages.
