Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use a build work zone in BTP as Fiori front end, we use integration suite for connecting 3rd party systems to SAP S/4HANA in private cloud, and Cloud Identity Service to configure Azure AD as the central IdP for all BTP applications and S/4Hana. Cloud identity service has really helped reduce the effort required in managing users. We can onboard and off-board users in a single place thanks to this tool.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Cloud identity service on BTP helps have a single IDP for all applications.
Integration suite on BTP helps connect to 3rd party systems.
Build work zone acts as the Fiori front end and can be securely connected to the backend.
BTP reduces maintenance efforts on the customer side.

Cons

IPS documentation on how to configure transformations can be improved what each field means be explained well in the documentation, and more recommended use cases can be provided in the documentation.
Cloud ALM CSA does not have all the features that Frun has, especially having a custom policy, it should be brought at par with Frun asap.
Cloud ALM configuration documentation is very hard to understand. Please provide more screenshots in the documentation.
SAP cannot reject tickets saying it is a consulting question; we raise tickets only when we struggle to understand the document.

Return on Investment

Customers don’t get to choose Downtimes, and they are not aligned with business downtime windows.
We don’t have transparent logs at the platform level.

Usability

S4hana fiori apps on the build work zone.

Support Rating

Customer requires detailed RCA during outages and explanation when there is a 502 error in communication, but it is hard to get from the support team.
