Overall Satisfaction with SAP Cloud Platform

We've been using the SAP Integration Suite cockpit internally as well as externally to extend SAP's offering to clients and customers by providing enhancements and implementations. SAP Integration Suite has a wide range of services to offer which can serve as great additions to a company running SAP. Some of the ones we've used internally are the IoT, Machine Learning and Blockchain Services available through SAP Leonardo on the Cloud Foundry. These were first launched as SAP's attempt to enter these emerging markets but have matured in its offering as well as ease of implementation. My recommendation would be to consider these SAP services in any future thinking, innovative services approach. SAP Integration Suite also serves as a centralized platform to access all Java, HTML5 and Hana XS Applications from. We developed our Apps through the Full Stack WebIDE which are then deployed and managed from SAP Integration Suite.
  • The ever-expanding suite of products and services offered is a great way of staying in touch with new technologies and to grow together with SAP's future thinking approach.
  • Provides an intuitive cockpit for managing services and applications.
  • Does a good job of user and role management in an organization which can be grouped according to sub-accounts or regions.
  • Documentation is sometimes lacking when trying to research or discover new services or technologies offered through SAP Integration Suite.
  • Clear release road maps have sometimes been lacking where we don't have much insight into what improvements can be expected when.
  • We've had some issues activating and deactivating services through our service rep.
  • SAP Integration Suite provides exciting new technologies that we try to accommodate in our offerings. These new technologies show our innovative and out-of-the-box thinking approach to technology companies.
We have used data and device integration where we have IoT devices sending data through a MQTT protocol to front end applications. This made use of the SAP IoT service and integration tools. We also use HANA XS Database Services for data management. These services are robust but intuitive to use and implement.
We've started using SAP's Machine Learning through the Leonardo offering to extend some of our other applications and use cases. This is mostly still in a research and discovery phase as we haven't had time to do a thorough prototype build.
One of the biggest platforms that stack up against SAP Integration Suite is Amazon Web Services (AWS) which I believe also provides a suite of applications ranging from IoT integration to machine learning and analytics. We haven't worked with this much and might come down to user preference or systems landscape whether a company prefers to use SAP to Amazon.
SAP Integration Suite is best used in conjunction with the WebIDE where we do all of our UI5 development. SAP Integration Suite does sometimes lack documentation and implementation guides on new services offered.
