Overall Satisfaction with SAP Digital Manufacturing

SAP Digital Manufacturing is being used to ease the operations for the user. When it was internally implemented in one of our factory it would help us to improve the performance. We have connected to machines and we have executed multiple demos in our system. These industry specific demos help us to convince our customers on the features available in SAP Digital Manufacturing.

Pros

  • Machine connectivity
  • Easy configurations
  • Evolving in built features with AI
  • Extensibility on BTP
  • Embedded SAC for reports

Cons

  • Edge component - this needs to be improved to provide a seamless connection.
  • The inbuilt functionalities like in ME instead of building separate production process.
  • The EDHR reports needs to be similar in SAP ME.
  • Configurable OEE reports and history reports delivered out of the box.
  • Integrated with non - SAP ERP.
  • It improves the productivity.
  • Easy the new operators onboarding.
  • Training the users is easy.
With POD functionality users have been guided on the process.

Discrete industry - it is well suited. The reports available are useful.
Process industry - if you can make the PI sheet availability in pod as an extension it would be useful.
