Overall Satisfaction with SAP ERP

We basically use different modules in SAP ERP in my Organization, like SAP PM/MM/BI. My department basically use SAP PM Module.We support the Site team based in different locations for SAP PM requirements. This Module comes under CMMS Computerized maintenance management system. This module automates all the maintenance related activity. It also helps us to reduce the maintenance cost by analyzing the data. It incorporates all the details related to maintenance, the tool helps to optimize the maintenance and reduced the cost involves in the maintenance activity.

  • For a Large Organization, the ROI will be more than 20%
  • For a small Organization, the implementation of SAP will give negative ROI
  • Because SAP ERP has a wide use of application and can be integrated with many modules, so it is preferable for large organizations to use SAP
SAP ERP Software takes care of all the minute details as well and can have a very sophisticated use. If used properly it will help the Organization to manage all the Stuffs at one single platform and give good returns. SAP ERP is built at the ground level and can have a more customizable approach in implantation whereas in Oracle JDE this cannot be possible.

SAP is a leading software in the market. It provides all the functionality related to an organization in a single platform and in much more customizable manner. It is mainly used for a product-based organization for run and maintenance while Oracle JDE is basically use for new customer acquisitions. The main drawback is its user interface and long implementation time, this drawback is majorly overcome by its competitor Oracle JDE.

For a product-based organization having a huge turnover can use SAP ERP much more effectively, because the cost involves is very high for implementing SAP. Whereas on the other hand a fresh startup or a low budget organization should not use SAP ERP System in my opinion, they can go for less cost software's like Maximo.

Using SAP ERP

5000 - Majorly our organization use SAP for Maintenance business functions, which involves using of SAP PM (Plant Maintenance) module.
In which they are subdivided into business functions between people at Site and People at Office (Helpdesk or at Support for the people at site).
Majorly people at site are the end user of the PM Module which will do all the maintenance related activities and update the same in the system, people at office just support the team at site for Updating of any master or transactional Data's.
Other than SAP PM Module, we also use SAP MM (Material Management) Module.
1000 - People at Office basically act as support ERP to people at Site, the skills required to do the same is,
1. Strong technical background (Eg. If using SAP PM module, then the person should have an experience of maintenance, so that they can think like people at site and suggest them the possibilities to implement the same in SAP).
2. Strong SAP PM technical functionalities. (SAP ERP Support people acts as a mediator between the people at site and SAP PM System), they should be an expert in both the domains.
3. Should have Advance Excel, Power BI, VBA Skills. (Usually, we get data in the form of Excel, our role is to cleanse those data so that it should be compatible with the SAP PM integration.

  • Proper and in time maintenance of the Equipment.
  • Optimized Maintenance Cost
  • Ease in tracking of Data
  • Using SAP GUI Scripting to automate repetitive task
  • Using the Layout Screen to get the insights and incorporating that data with Power BI, to see the insights.
  • Integrate all the Data into one single module by using SAP HANA
It's the most reliable software, which fulfils all the needs that require to run an organization successfully.
With proper training and effective use one can get a good rate of return on the investment to implement SAP.
We can get the insights of how the work is going by the dashboards or data layouts, and we can work on to get a continuous and continual improvement, which will effectively reduce the operating cost and will increase in revenues.
