Overall Satisfaction with SAP for Higher Education and Research
We were using SAP for Higher Education and Research for Student Affairs. We were managing the Courses, making official requests like Student Documents, Transcripts etc. We were also checking the Course Schedule, General infos. We were also managing our thesis, applying and selecting the subject, uploading and checking in the originals. There were a lot of workflows which was needed between the Academic Personnel and students and it was so far enough to manage it.
- Workflow Management
- Better UI with New Fiori Interface
- Document Management
- Error Handling : Sometimes it created some issues where there was not enough explanation. But I think it is mostly related with the consulting company making poor development.
- In every period, when students tries to access to the system all together and sign up for the courses, it always crashed for minimum a week. I think it requires Load Balancing.
- The options we used were very limited there, I think there is more capabilities for collaboration is still needed. For example, exams, homeworks etc can be managed by itç
- Workflow Management is really important in High Education and Research
- 3rd Party Integrations through API and other technologies
- Supporting the staff with RPA like technologies
- There were a lot of other platforms also used along with SAP for Higher Education and Research, I believe reducing these needs would be very important overall.
- At the background, there are a lot of important functionalities reside like Accounting, HR etc. and this is where SAP for Higher Education and Research comes very powerful I believe
- Cloud version would be a lot useful especially considering that, user logins are always seasonal so extra help always needed to balance the loads in the network.
I have also used Workday, and comparing with SAP for Higher Education and Research, Workday has a lot of rooms to improve. Yes, it also has Workflows Management capabilities, however, the user interface in terms of usability is the worst unfortunately. I didn't had the chance to see if there are other capabilities like Accounting, HR etc. but I don't think it is also strong in that matter as well.
