Perfect for the data needs of a large organization with footprint in multiple continents

With SAP HANA Cloud, we have been able to bring all our data sources to a single place. As a manufacturing organization, everyday have a lot of transactions involving customers, suppliers and internal business processes. We receive data from our customers, our suppliers and also from our manufacturing plants which are spread across the world. The entire supply chain data, right from customer order, MRP output, purchase orders, inbound and outbound logistics data is available for running the analytics needs of different business users. With SAP HANA Cloud, we are able to answer management questions and build dashboards which gives a real-time underatanding of how the business is performing.

From a business user perspective, the in-memory database has largely contributed to speed up data retrieval and analyzing large data sets. There are always ad-hoc business requirements from management, hence a real time view of transacational data gives a pulse of the business by visualizing lagging and leading indicators in our custom dashboards

Our organization receives customer orders, shipping confirmation, order confirmation, etc in the form of EDI input from our customers and suppliers. The data format for this is JSON which combines with other transactional data in the database. Without combining the EDI data with the transactional data generated by our ERP, the complete picture can never be captuted and analyzed.

In the initial POC phase, several business logic where tested which removed one or two layers of data analyzes. The data retrieved after application of the business logic was much preferred by the users as it became easier to run their own ad-hoc data requirements.
