Overall Satisfaction with SAP Integration Suite

SAP Integration Suite is use as a middleware with SAP applications and their party applications. We use SAP Integration Suite mostly for mapping and as a layer of security between application that does not have a SAP connectors that can allow to connect to S4HANNA. Monitoring of our applications is also important in our organization so we take the benefit of SAP Integration Suite.

Pros

  • The extensive catalog of pre package integrations that have in the discovery center. That allows developers to find solutions that can fit the needs.
  • Monitor of the integrations and api deployed.
  • API management has been for us a very usefull tool inside integration suite, to be able to have the API Hub with the documentation of our apis.

Cons

  • Documentation could be sometimes a little bit confusing. Some times I have to read more than twice times to get or understand the steps to follow.
  • Would be good if we have less limit logic when is time to transform messages, sometime is very difficult to interact or try to do something less common than the tools that we have.
  • The tracing on the iflow could be inproved to not depend on third parties app like SAP CPI Helper Chrome Extention.
  • Boost of productivity on the integrations developments
  • innovation with all the services that SAP Integration Suite can offer
  • In my opinion the license could be expensive, when you or your team does not uses most of the features that SAP Integration Suite has.
We have benefits for both cloud and onprem solutions, as a said before we use SAP Integration Suite as a middleware and we are connecting third party applciations and SAP applications. We also has benefits of pre build integrations that allow us to be faster on the delivery of the projects. We benefit of alert notifications, api managment, transport managment and the monitoring of integration suite in our department. With all of these thing combine together we deliver a good quality integration for our clients.
For now we are not using this capabilities of machine learning or analytics. But I know that they have been using this in other parts of our organization. In our team we are aware that we have this tool also available and could be useful in our near future of our developments.
We used to have a in house application in Camel and Karaf as a middleware, and after we migrate to S4HANNA we decide to give a try and move to the cloud with SAP Integration Suite, knowing the capabilities and the needs that we have in the company and the projects that were running on premise in our middleware.

Do you think SAP Integration Suite delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with SAP Integration Suite's feature set?

Yes

Did SAP Integration Suite live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of SAP Integration Suite go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy SAP Integration Suite again?

Yes

In our case to have a such a poweful middleware in the cloud, give us a lot of benefits such as maintenance and support. In the integration part to be able to connect SAP and Non SAP applications makes SAP Integration Suite a good investment when our master data in this case is in S4HANA. Less appropriate is that sometimes the updates in production tenant failed and they have to downgrade or repair the issues. Affecting the usage of the tool. I guess SAP team have to be more aware of performing the changes and tested well on development environments and then when they know for sure that is the correct way to go with the update put it in production.
