Overall Satisfaction with SAP Master Data Governance

Business problem: Master data is not centralized but rather in different systems, which causes inconsistencies and difficulties to manage business objects properly.
SAP Master Data Governance has enabled the centralized governance of master data we are aiming for.
Scope: BPs, CoA, Cost centers, profit centers among others.

SAP Support team has shown to be quite supportive; however, in SAP Master Data Governance, it is still challenging to identify clearly the root cause of some issues, which at some point are rather blockers. This means that by having an issue raised to SAP if it is not already addressed in a SAP note to reproduce it and intervene, it is not easy to do the E2E process given source and target systems.
Because SAP Master Data Governance has proven consistency in the administration of master data, establishing a clear standard approval flow around the business object involved, which allows business units to control their objects with the corresponding proper governance.
The effect of using standard data models and workflows as well as standard integrated features like customizing distribution, which is integrated and quite aligned between SAP Master Data Governance and Solution Manager has allowed us to implement business specific solutions rather faster, helping systems configurators to proceed in an agile fashion plus the master data component being in line with already known customizing from other components.
Business Partners data model once in place, the data replication framework has been set, plus configurations like SOA MANAGER, systems profiles, etc. Hence, we just reuse the BP data model which means the interface from SAP Master Data Governance to target system maintains a standard data model, and the middleware is responsible to adjust accordingly. Same applies to CoA data models for global use.
Data Replication Framework, ALE, RFCs that interact with the help of PO for Front Office systems, APIs that allow consumption or consume another service.

Well suited: For SAP Master Data Governance in the business objects under scope the solution has provided consistency, data integrity and security in terms of access to modify such business objects.

Less appropriate: The troubleshooting and monitoring part of the job is challenging, for instance, to be able to identify errors we need to ask the technical team, which functionally speaking is not the best option.
