Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP S/4HANA Cloud is easier to manage, we were having SAP ECC systems and we went for a Greenfield implementation which seemed very complex. The end results are very well received by business as well as end users. We classified our user community as per their personas and responsibilities and we could offer them an user experience best suited for performing their roles without going for much customization effort.

Pros

  • Implementation cost is optimized due to the reduced configuration and guided configuration process.
  • Support cost is optimized as SAP standard is good enough for most cases
  • Integration with other systems is easier and takes less time

Cons

  • Customization scope is limited, for regional or complex solutions it may be a hindrance
  • We don't know what impact an upgrade would have.
  • We are not fully sure how subscription costs will be in the future.
  • Positive impact - reduced cost of implementation
  • Positive impact - reduced cost of support
  • Probable negative impact - Have to consider the restrictions while considering complex solutions for adoption
Easy to implement, use and maintain but with standard features mostly.

For simple business model which does not need much customization and needs quicker implementation, SAP S/4HANA Cloud is well suited. It is a "Less features- Less hassle" model where SAP subscription helps to monitor performance, upgrade with much less headache. But for complex industries, custom solutions should be allowed for adoption and in these cases SAP S/4HANA Cloud may not be suitable at all.
