Overall Satisfaction with SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP S/4 HANA Cloud Private edition is being used in my organization for inventory management, Quality management and batch traceability through the production process. Our business issues include, need for additional functionality around batch traceability, up stream and down stream usage and integration of multiple production and quality systems.

Pros

  • Inventory Management
  • Production processing
  • User access and accessibility with UI5 designs

Cons

  • Batch management with usage and planning/MRP usages
  • MRP in general is very complicated and not user friendly for master data configuration
  • Quality management needs to be redone to harmonize field names.
  • We run SAP S/4 HANA with an AMS support provider and 1 full time SAP person. This highlights that when done correctly and following clean core process and SAP best practices, the system can be easily maintained.
Fiori is missing key apps for administrator usage including transport management, and other SE transactions.
  • Scalability
Decision to implement S/4 HANA cloud was decided on before I started with the company and reason only relayed to me during my time working with company decision makers.
Decision was made prior to my starting with the company.

SAP is THE ERP system for any size and/or type of business. It might be a bit overwhelming for a small start-up/etsy store, but the modularity makes it scalable to most business models.
