Overall Satisfaction with SAP SuccessFactors

We use SAP SuccessFactors for Onboarding, Recruitment, and Employee Central. Currently, we are very happy with SuccessFactors products. It is a seamless process, from hiring employees to onboarding and setting up employees in Employee Central to replicating them to ECC. I liked the workflow processes set up in SF, and the approver level was easy to understand. We plan to implement other modules like EC Payroll, EC Time, Succession Planning, etc.

Employee experience: Easy to navigate and interactive. Able to review the stalled workflows. Able to identify the replication statuses and replication errors. It is easy to read the org chart. Administrators can read the data and make changes as requested. It is easy to proxy and complete the tasks required to process the stalled workflows.
After the SF implementation, operational efficiency improved, and Admins could review the employee data in one place (contrary to ECC info type data). Admins could easily navigate the employee profile and answer user questions. There were improved processes and less downtime.
If we envision AI capabilities in the EC component, it will improve efficiency and accuracy and easily gather employee information. However, at the City, we are not planning to utilize AI capabilities for now as the workforce requires lots of training and understanding of the requirements to use AI. Getting used to this functionality will take time, but it is beneficial if we use it effectively.
At City, we currently use SAP on-premise applications for all HCM functionalities, and we have already implemented SF Onboarding, Recruitment, and Employee Central. Since we are long-time customers using all on-premise HCM applications, it's easy for business users to choose SuccessFactors products. We are delighted with the SAP HCM products we are currently using.

SAP SuccessFactors look and feel, and the Dashboard is informative and easy to use. Reviewing employee profiles is very informative for administrators, and it helps them follow the steps. Anyone can view the Organizational chart and easily see all the positions from top to bottom—the control center to review the Pending workflows, Failed workflows, Reports, Replication errors, etc.

I may not change my evaluation as we are used to these SAP products and liked it.

SAP SuccessFactors Implementation

Yes - Two Phases: Onboarding/Recruitment Employee Central.
Change management was a big part of the implementation and was well-handled
  • Replication to ECC.
  • IT0003 errors.
  • IT0041 issues (Retro dates).
Implemented on time with minor issues, and SAP provided excellent support.

SAP SuccessFactors Training

Online training is excellent, but it needs more exercise.

Configuring SAP SuccessFactors

The configuration differs from SAP ECCs, and we handled it well.
Some - we have done small customizations to the interface
Some - we have added small pieces of custom code - To replicate the employees to ECC and to handle some custom info types in SF.
Some City specific info types and Events.

SAP SuccessFactors Support

Sometimes, we have issues contacting SAP to fix the problems with SuccessFactors on time.

Integration is good, but sometimes, we have issues replicating employee data for ECC.

Working with vendors during implementation was a lovely experience, and I learned a lot of new things during implementation.

  • Introduced some new features but we are not using at City.
