Overall Satisfaction with Sequel Pro

We use Sequel Pro daily to access our numerous remote MySQL databases. It has saved me a significant amount of time over the years with the easy ability to run queries, view data, import, export, and view processes. I like not having to install something like phpMyAdmin to get to the database, as this is more secure

Pros

  • Import/Export.
  • Process Lists.
  • Search

Cons

  • Design is a little dated.
  • Support more database types.
  • The user dialog is buggy.
  • Reduces the time required to manipulate a database.
  • Easy imports and exports are a huge time saver.
It is easy to use, but the design could use updating as it's very dated.
DataGrip has much better support for other database types and is a modern design. I also love Quercus, which is on the same level as Sequel Pro, but is a much more modern design with a few cache optimizations to make it faster.

Do you think Sequel Pro delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Sequel Pro's feature set?

Yes

Did Sequel Pro live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Sequel Pro go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Sequel Pro again?

Yes

For MySQL databases, it is great; for anything else, I use other software options.
