Overall Satisfaction with ShareGate

We mostly use ShareGate for complex and comprehensive migrations between tenants/sites. But ShareGate is also very usable on a daily basis for more simple administration tasks like copying libraries and (their contents), running reports for audit purposes and removing orphaned users and managing MS Teams (for example: sites without owners). The time you save in comprehension to other tools is worth the money of a ShareGate license!

Pros

  • Migrating Sites and data on harddrives to SharePoint
  • Copying all kinds of SharePoint objects between sites
  • Reports on Orphaned users and other audit requirements

Cons

  • More and better reports
  • Sometimes errors for a migration aren't that clear
  • A more wizard like approach for importing data from a networkdrive would be nice
  • We save money and time on our migrations by using ShareGate
ShareGate has purpose for every M365 administrator! Every M365 can find some use full actions.

It's great for all kinds of migrations big and small. The reports are also very usefull and the MS Teams administration options are a bonus. It's file/networkdrive migration options could be completere but they work. I hope ShareGate will invest some more effort in to that feature. ShareGate is quite complete as it is right now.
