Overall Satisfaction with Shift

I love using Shift to manage all my different inboxes in one place. It doesn't use as much memory and resources as Chrome, and I'm able to easily access my separate Google Drives, Google Cals, etc. in one central location. I also like that I can add different apps that go across the different accounts, so I save time toggling between applications.

Pros

  • Separate "windows" for each account, with their respective GDrive and GCal
  • Integrate a large number of apps and add-ons
  • Color-code my accounts so I can differentiate them if I have the same profile picture

Cons

  • Connecting other accounts that are not Google or Microsoft (like Yahoo or Zoho mail)
  • Sometimes the passwords don't work as they should, like the password popup doesn't show up
  • Grammarly integration is not 100% there, I log in with an account and then it stops working for another
  • Increased productivity
  • Increased computer performance
  • Reduced time toggling between windows
  • Better organization, especially for specific tabs and Google apps
I've integrated several Gmail accounts and it has worked wonderfully. I own a business and we host our email server in Zoho, so I wish this was a better integrated account, but I work around this since Zoho Mail is an app. So I still have access to this at the bottom of the sidebar. But it would be amazing to have its own account with my Zoho Drive and other Zoho apps in its own window.
The fact that it uses less resources of my computer than having multiple Chrome tabs/windows open is already a huge increase in productivity as I don't have to spend time waiting for things to load, or staring at my mac's rainbow wheel because it doesn't have enough memory to perform a task. This is the #1 benefit.
Shift is incredibly usable because it solves a real, everyday pain point: juggling multiple email accounts and apps without killing my computer’s memory. The interface is clean, intuitive, and customizable. I like that I don't have to waste time switching Chrome profiles, logging in/out, or dealing with tabs everywhere. I can stay focused and move fast.

Shift is a great tool to manage different freelance accounts, personal accounts, and work accounts all in one app. I love that it became a central solution for all my inboxes since before I had to have different Chrome sessions open with multiple windows, one for each of my accounts, or multiple tabs open on Chrome, which completely eats all my CPU memory and makes my computer super slow. And with that came the issue of opening Google Calendar or Google Drive and only going to the main account I'm signed in as, normally my personal account, and making me waste time having to toggle to a different Google account.
