Overall Satisfaction with Sitecore OrderCloud

We used Sitecore OrderCloud in a Sitecore Upgrade from XP/XC 9.3 to XM 10.3 / OrderCloud.
Working with a Not For Profit Organization, with some unusual Commerce Flows and use-cases, we need a flexible eCommerce, Headless Platform that would easily adapt to our requirements. OrderCloud was the perfect choice.

Pros

  • Flexibility over Features
  • Great Product for both B2C and B2B
  • Fantastic Support
  • Great Documentation
  • Accessibility: Free Sandboxes for everyone.

Cons

  • Ability to create custom objects/entities
  • Azure Hosting Costs divided by 3
  • Content Delivery number of instances needed down from 10 to 4. (And with better performance as a result)
  • Lighthouse Scores from D to A to reach above 95.
  • Development velocity increased significantly due to OrderCloud's flexibility and its easier learning curve for new developers, allowing for much faster progress.
Great Documentation, Intuitive APIs, Additional SDKs and Accelerators to help boost development cycles.

As a global organization we needed ability to have different and dynamic pricing based on Geo-Location. OrderCloud Architecture with Locales and User Groups allowed us to use a Single Buyer and easily manage all our use-cases. In the few scenarios where we had feature requests or improvements, the team was very highly responsive and many new features or changes were added to the Products based on these discussions.
