Overall Satisfaction with Snow License Manager
We use Snow License Manager to monitor our license positions and keep track of obsolete licenses, to search for hardware specifications, to see who is using which hardware and how often applications are being used. It is a major tool for us to discuss the used licenses and the need for end users to use specific licenses.

- Monitor used software
- Discover used hardware
- Report license compliancy
Cons
- Building OS agents via Snow License Manager instead of requesting them via support
- Detecting roaming licenses from for instance Flexera

Using Snow License Manager
6 - IT users use Snow solely for Software Licensing Management and some Business users use Snow for reporting and inventorying. The IT needs are focusing on how to get and keep the licensing compliant and costs within budget, whereas the Business needs focus on getting clear who uses which software and for what.
A pleasant side effect is that Snow License Manager als inventories hardware in use, so that can also be used in reporting.

3 - We do run Snow License Manager and the supporting services on one server and the two Snow databases on a dedicated SQL Server farm. To support Snow License Manager users regular updates are necessary and knowledge of the OS and SQL will come in handy. Updates normally just run fine, but to be sure a consistent SQL backup and a corrresponding VM snapshot are made before update.

I did not buy premium support. When we started with Snow, more than 9 years ago, the support level offered was sufficient and it still is.
Yes - It took some time because it required a bit strange workaround, but in the end is was solved. It took some weeks to solve it, but since that time, i think 5-6 years ago, i have not had a problem like that again.
No, the support is as it should be; good solutions, fast reply
