Overall Satisfaction with Snow License Manager

Snow License Manager (SLM) is used as a tool in our Software Asset Management function. It allows us to obtain a compliance position, and report on licenses, installations and users of software on end-user devices and servers. The license intelligence applied with this solution saves great deal of time when handling applications and their licenses, as the correct metrics will nearly always be automatically selected for a specific product. SLM has a wealth of reports that we regularly use, it's also a useful tool for audit against our CMDB, to confirm hardware configurations.

We currently have the on-premise solution, which is very good indeed. If we were starting working with Snow now, we'd probably select the Atlas (SaaS) managed platform. This would reduce/remove work required to keep the Snow servers up-to-date with Windows and software updates.
Software Integration is stable once configured correctly and works well. The only issue we have experienced was with a major version update, when the method of integration changed for a vendors solution. Two Reps (...)at Snow were extremely helpful in diagnosing this issue and advising on the correct solution. There are a wealth of connectors to vendor solutions, which are kept up-to-date allowing product specific data to be brought into Snow. SLM.

Snow License Manager is an excellent tool, allowing us to provide accurate information where there is a limited scope to the report, e.g., identify who has application X installed. One issue we have (due to the amount of information Snow gathers), is when users request a report with a broad scope. E.g., provide me with all information you have for all applications on all computers. (This is our usual starting point). This report is typically millions of rows.
