Soapbox may be the lovely screen recording software you have been missing!
Overall Satisfaction with Soapbox
Soapbox is currently used only by a few of our team members who prefer Wistia's branding and user interface compared to the competing apps. What I really enjoy about Soapbox is how easy to use it is from Day 1. As for solving business problems, Soapbox is a brilliant video and screen-recording tool that makes more personal messaging with leads and customers possible.
Pros
- Beautiful user interface -- an absolute delight to use.
- Editing options are easy and useful options within the web-app editor.
Cons
- Better reliability: there have been times when I'd record a video and it wouldn't save (quite heartbreaking! 💔).
- Improved sound: sometimes the recording would produce crackling sounds that can't be edited out.
- It's reducing friction when explaining complex topics to leads & customers.
- We've had more memorable emails for leads, as they see a custom video is recorded for them.
In terms of usability, Soapbox trumps Loom, Vidyard, and the recently released Drift Video. I'll be honest -- the integrations and live chat functions on Drift Video are attractive, but I still prefer the simplicity of Soapbox.
However, reliability is where Soapbox could improve. There have been cases where I'd try recording the same video twice on Soapbox, it would fail, and I'd have to revert to recording with Vidyard.
If Soapbox was as reliable, I'd give this product a 10/10!
