Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager

Solarwinds Network Configuration Manager is used to back up our core switches configuration. We have a team of four network admins and often times someone will make a change without documenting. NCM has helped by highlighting those changes when we have issues come up.
  • Fast Deployment of failed or replacement switches.
  • Automated documentation. Nothing replaces notes from the Network Admin but NCM helps fill in the blanks.
  • I don't have any suggestions.
  • It is costly. There have been months where we don't use it and question our need for it until something bad happens.
When turnover occurs. It's easy for an employee to go back and look at what the previous admin assigned to that site did. Also, NCM helps with troubleshooting, we can see what changes were made during a certain time period and revert back to the previous configuration.
