Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Configuration Manager
We are currently using it to back up configuration from various layer 2 network switches across the state. Until now there has never been an easy way to accomplish device backups. We have been working with their staff to resolve an issue with uploading a config to a device that we have in our lab. The issue is still pending, but to date, they have been very helpful with trying to find a solution.
- DOT has devices all over the state with no easy way to back up the device configuration. NCM allows us to perform those tasks.
- I am still learning the product, so some of the issues may be due to not fully understanding the product functionality.
- Being able to replace a device knowing that we have a configuration saved has been a time saver.
- DX Spectrum (formerly CA Spectrum)
The products are similar; both have good features, but Spectrum was much more expensive.
