Overall Satisfaction with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor is mainly used to monitor core router interfaces, especially facing DIA connections. It is also configured to trigger email and text alerts when a bandwidth threshold is reached. Once a bandwidth abnormality is reported, SolarWind NPM is used to drill into traffic and find which endpoints are using a high amount of bandwidth.
- Sort bandwidth usage from endpoint IP address or Interface.
- See type of traffic passing important interfaces. Using SolarWinds NPM we were able to identify a unusual IPSEC issue which was affecting our entire network - and resolve it.
- Drill down to exact time periods to see throughput.
- I would like to see BGP related information in SolarWinds NPM.
- Faster troubleshooting of network issues
- Better capacity planning
