Overall Satisfaction with SQL Sentry
We use SQL Sentry to provide an agreeable set of monitoring metrics and results which we use as part of our consulting toolset for MS SQL server.
It also forms the basis of our alerting and monitoring framework that we deploy for our clients.

- Easy to implement
- Great knowledge base
- Excellent support
- I'd like some customisable branding for reports
- Having a customisable time allocation table to map alerts to an estimated, predefined chunk of time allotted to resolve the alert
Both tools cover what you'd expect from an enterprise-grade SQL monitoring tool. Performance monitoring, alerting and diagnostics on both the tools are excellent and I cannot fault either on technical capabilities and feature offerings.
For SQL Managed Services providers, SQL Sentry shines in multi-client topology, thanks to their cloud monitoring.
I find the licensing models and subscription options available from SentryOne for SQL Sentry to be the best in the industry.
Account management support from SentryOne for SQL Sentry has been amazing. The team at SentryOne has been helpful, understanding and really involved in how we use the tool, and in enhancing our value proposition to clients with SQL Sentry.

SolarWinds SQL Sentry Feature Ratings
Using SQL Sentry
4 - SentryOne forms part of our Managed Service offering. The primary users are SQL DBAs that use SentryOne for 2 main functional areas:
1. Monthly reports.
2. Point in time troubleshooting.
Monthly reporting with SentryOne gives us a standard model that DBAs use to engage with our clients on performance profiles and alerting of monitored SQL servers.
Troubleshooting also becomes more standardized for DBAs with SentryOne and allows all of our DBAs to function and behave in the same manner during investigations.
