Use Cases and Deployment Scope

SQL Sentry is being used across more departments (development/QA ...) and is addressing problems with our database systems. It's incredibly helpful for fast analysis of troubles and extremely helpful in solving them.

Pros

Quick overview about wait types
Quick overview about overall system status
An awesome overview about running queries and how they doing.

Cons

Blocking chart could be on General Tab to have all necessary info on one tab
Still some gaps on particular monitored systems in the charts

Alternatives Considered

We have tried some other solutions to monitor our environment but sqlsentry won, with the features, price and fantastic support.

Hello Jiri, I would have to say, if we were doing a review title completion, you would be in first place! We are always happy to hear customers getting a lot out of our product, and that they are able to improve the overall performance of their environments. I did want to make a few comments. If seeing blocking events without having to go to the Blocking tab is critical for you, you can add the Blocking SQL condition with the action “Send To Alerting Channels”. This action will populate a yellow triangle with an exclamation point on the Dashboard. You can then hover over this icon for additional details. This can bring attention to conditions being met outside of email alerts. As for the gaps you are getting in data collecting, please contact our dedicated Support team (support@sqlsentry.com). This can occur for several reasons and our support team would be glad to walk you through resolving it.
