Overall Satisfaction with SQL Sentry Performance Advisor

We are using it on our most critical production servers for better tuning and troubleshooting.

Pros

  • Overview dashboard of registered servers are very useful for a quick glance of potential problems.
  • Graphical display of performance counters are rich and clear
  • The ability to add your own alerts is also a good feature.

Cons

  • Refresh rate could be improved.
Idera, Solarwinds, RedGate and Spotlight
For a small shop which are not 24/7 and smaller budget it may not be suitable. But in enterprise level companies, it is a necessity.
