Overall Satisfaction with SQL Sentry Performance Advisor

We use SQL Sentry Performance Advisor internally and with our clients. The software is great to look into various things that can impact the performance of SQL Server and pinpoint the cause.

Pros

  • Its great to see what is going on in SQL Server and the host system.
  • The ability to drill down is critical.

Cons

  • The UI could be more modern and easier to use.
SQL Sentry was easier to setup and use than other products I have used.
It is well suited where you have a SQL Server that you need to monitor and understand whats going on internally. Its also useful to make sure you server keeps running optimally by providing you detailed information.
