Overall Satisfaction with StarWind Virtual SAN

We use VSAN as a SAN to supply storage for VMs in HyperV over fiber channel. The storage cluster consists of JBOD chassis with FC disks which are connected to the VSAN server which in turn supplies disks for HyperV over FC.

Pros

  • Integration with HyperV
  • Works with FC
  • Seamless after setup

Cons

  • Currently setup is done with Powershell cmds
  • Usage of on-prem storage instead of cloudstorage
  • Disk failure safety to prevent dataloss
