Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Tableau is being used across the whole organization as a reporting and business intelligence platform.

Pros and Cons

Quick development time.
Easy to administer.
Lots of options for authentication.

It's slow to start/stop the server components, which results in more downtime during upgrades.
Hard to kill a data refresh manually.

Return on Investment

The goal is to deliver data to the business to improve decision making, and Tableau does just that.
Cost to deploy and implement is minimal. You can install and configure in an hour or two.
Cost to administer is low. Really doesn't require attention other than the once-per-month upgrades.

Likelihood to Recommend

Great for publishing dashboards within the company.
