Teamcenter is one of the best Product Lifecycle Management software available in the market by Siemens. We are using PLM Teamcenter for creating and tracking all the processes during the product development phase. In Teamcenter, first Design department will upload all the details about products and drawings. In production phase of the new product respected departments access the details of the products and after trail we upload trial reports and other test results of the product on the Teamcenter. We have total 5 plants worldwide and each of them are connected to Teamcenter. There will be some products already making in some plants and some plants are developing it. In this case the plant which is developing the products can access the reports of other plants and make preparations accordingly.

Yes, it is true that Teamcenter is quite flexible for PLM, it gives you the upper hand in managing your data and resource allocation. In our organization every department has access to Teamcenter although they have different user access permissions. Some departments have only read-only permission and others have writing access to it. For a single product each department can access its drawing and customer requirements this only design can write and modify others can only read it. Production reports and others check sheets are uploaded by the manufacturing data which is useful for all other departments. Final acceptance report is accessed and edited by all the departments as it needs permission from all.
