Overall Satisfaction with ThousandEyes

ThousandEyes has given me the ability to monitor our network from within the network and from outside giving me assurance that it's working properly. The pre-configured scans have allowed me to get the product up and running quickly. This allowed me to get the product installed and running within a matter of minutes. Their support staff has been great and willing to help you in any way they can. Today it has been a very good partnership. This is helped my staff identify potential problems before they are problems and it has helped our help desk staff do the same. If there is a problem our help desk staff is able to communicate that problem before our users experience any issues.
  • Visibility into our network
  • Visibility into the services we use
  • A great dashboard to see everything pertinent to what we're looking for
  • The ability to have managers see what's going on and able to report problems if they see something
  • Provide a better understanding of their use calculator
  • This is nitpicking but a better UI
  • I might not have found it but a dashboard accessible from the public
  • The ability to see the full path taken to the service to determine were the problem is
  • The ability to monitor services inside and outside the network
  • The ability to see client issues utilizing the endpoint client
  • It is able to determine our uptime on services
  • We are able to determine whether our service provider is providing what they have agreed to for Internet services
  • Allows you to determine outside access to internal resources as if you were a client trying to perform a transaction
To be honest for our use we utilize both PRTG as well as ThousandEyes for different and unique purposes. ThousandEyes could do everything however it does become a bit cost-prohibitive. We were able to gain access to ThousandEyes from our Cisco licensing on other products and since then have deployed the solution. We have seen the potential but also recognize having diverse monitoring is okay.

Do you think ThousandEyes delivers good value for the price?

PRTG Network Monitor, Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch), SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (npm)
If you monitor cloud services it is a great solution to use. Internal resource scanning is a bit challenging but maybe just my lack of understanding. For our use case, we are using it to monitor cloud services and the services they provide to us for example Webex, Microsoft 365, and a few other key services.
