Overall Satisfaction with ThreatDown, powered by Malwarebytes
Malware seems to be an ever-escalating platform for the bad actors of the world. Malicious emails, infected websites and text scams are an ever-prevalent fact of the current environment. Finding tools to fight the ongoing battle that don't require constant hand-holding and monitoring might seem elusive, but are a realizable dream for IT professionals. Rolling out ThreatDown, powered by Malwarebytes on all systems has facilitated Patch Management (Windows and a ton of 3rd party software are supported), Installed Software Audits, Ransomware Rollback and malware detection/remediation from a single interface. Saves me time and effort, which adding confidence.
Pros
- Patch Management
- Software Inventory Audits
- Malware Detection and Remediation
- Browser extension
Cons
- Nothing comes to mind.
- Low cost for a lot of functionality
- I'm certain that many exploits that would have made it through traditional anti-virus products have been stopped.
- Adding new substantial features (e.g. Patch Management) over the years has kept ThreatDown (formerly Malwarebytes) valuable.
ThreatDown, powered by Malwarebytes, performs so many more functions than simple, traditional anti-virus tools. The cost is less than most others too! The centralized deployment and management console is super-easy to use, yet highly functional. In this day and age, I’m a bit leery of products from certain countries, so that eliminated one on my list that I used to trust..

ThreatDown, powered by Malwarebytes Feature Ratings
Using ThreatDown, powered by Malwarebytes
29 - End users don’t interact with the product at all, other then when prompted to reboot for updates. Every system in our organization has the tool installed, but it’s very easy for a single person to manage all aspects of this tool. A few minutes a week is all that’s really required.
1 - Minimal skills are required. The interface is very straightforward and well-designed. Deployment to new systems is very simple. The Patch Management aspect (which is optional — use it to whatever degree you prefer — from “not at all” to “push updates to 3rd-party tools daily”) does require a bit of technical knowledge.
- Add an extra layer of protection to all systems.
- Manage patch status for Windows and many 3rd-party tools on all systems.
- Easy auditing of all installed software on any system.
