Overall Satisfaction with TIBCO BusinessWorks

We are using TIBCO BusinessWorks as a common EAI platform to connect multiple system and facilitate information flow. It helps my customer to modernize their IT infrastructure without much disruption to their legacy operations.

Pros

  • Less development effort
  • Stable environment
  • Require much less deployment downtime

Cons

  • More xslt editing and testing support
  • Need enhanced JSON support
  • Adapter configuration could be simplified
  • Less downtime
  • Less development effort
  • Less maintaince effort
TIBCO provides easy-to-learn and maintainable product. IT data transformation support is quite strong, which gives it an edge. You also have the option to connect to other TIBCO products like ActiveSpaces and BusinessEvents, which massively enhance performance compared to other products.
I will prefer TIBCO BusinessWorks when legacy systems need to be integrated. I will probably evaluate other options where REST with JSON connectivity is required.
