Overall Satisfaction with Spotfire

We have been using Spotfire quite extensively in our company to address the data analytics and visualization needs. Primarily it has come across as a handy tool across the department to represent data in a more easy and reliable way. We use it to run some very quick analysis on huge data sets.

  • Embedded option to code analysis through R/python/SQl makes the tool quite useful and handy.
  • Geographical tagging is also quite useful & unique.

Evaluating Spotfire and Competitors

Yes - Excel. We were not using any specialized tool for data visualization. But with huge amount of data that we were handling, it became almost impossible to use excel. This prompted us to move to a different tool with advanced capabilities and we choosed spotfire for our computing and visualization needs.

Product Features - We were impressed by the amount of options we had inbuilt / embedded in the Spotfire too. The easy navigation and click to use features were quite a few reason to prioritize Spotfire over its near competitors. Also the online community support was quite an exciting features that comes handy.
Not much of a change in selection process, but yes i would also look for future compatibility and usability of the product and its acceptance globally. Reviews do matter a lot from public in general, because they help us know the on - ground first hand usability / features of the product.
