Overall Satisfaction with Spotfire

It was used by my previous organization for translational research. It addressed the problem of data analytics and visualization. I recently used a paper (which is accepted) where I also used Spotfire 6.5 and other analytics and programming took for data analytics to create a visualization and do data analytics.

Cons

  • Images to put
  • Legends to visualize
  • API uses iron python instead of python which is different and complex
It's better than Tableau but licensing is expensive. I think QlikView is better as they give free version for single users.
For biopharmaceutical data analytics it is good to use. For omics office and Genomics research it is not good.
