Overall Satisfaction with Spotfire
Currently, there are multiple departments from different divisions and directorates that are using Spotfire. Most of them are using the product mainly for aggregating data and visualizing them into dashboards. Next major use case of Spotfire is for displaying Geographical Information such as building heatmaps and mobility patterns. However, we are also exploring Spotfire's analytical capabilities for descriptive and predictive analytics.
- Aggregating data and presents them in dynamic charts.
- Descriptive analytics and patterns discovery.
- High-dimensionality data source
- Near real-time analytics
We have been using Spotfire with another Spotfire product namely Spotfire Streaming LiveView. We are using both products in our in-house fraud detection platform. We are able to capitalize on Spotfire strong visualization and analytical capabilities to analyze data stream which has been pre-processed by the Spotfire Streaming LiveView. Thus, we are able to visualize huge amount of data in near real-time.
Pre-build descriptive/statistical analytic capabilities and less steep learning curve make Spotfire the right tools for transforming data into informative dashboards. However, when drilling down to detailed data, visualization can be a bit tricky. Nonetheless, Spotfire's ability to integrate different format data sets with external data sources is the main advantage over the competitor.

Spotfire Training
- No Training
I first learned to use Spotfire by reading its documentation (manuals and FAQ) which allows me to become comfortable with the user interfaces and also to discover basic functionalities. However, due to lack of formal training for using the product, I am still exploring advance capabilities and scouring the internet for how to best use the product.
