Overall Satisfaction with Time Doctor

I keep track of my own time using Time Doctor. It is a sophisticated timer. I log my hours in Google Spreadsheets and biweekly email them to my leader.
  • Let's you time multiple projects in one day.
  • Emails you your times so you have them even if you didn't record them.
  • Has a widget in the top menu bar of your desktop that's easy to read whether it's on or off.
  • I wish I could tamper with when it asks me if I'm working. I find it annoying.
  • It could be prettier.
  • I like the floating progress bar, but when I use google inbox it's always in the way.
  • I am more accurate with my time. I like being honest. Without Time Doctor I would guess my times and that would be unfair to the man who pays me.
  • rescue time and egg timer
I still use Rescue Time for different reasons. I review my stats once a week by email. I think it's a totally different product. My egg timer keeps me more on task, but it doesn't record my times.
Time Doctor is great if you need to time how long you spend on different projects throughout the day. I am editing multiple books at once and I need to keep track of how long I spend on each one.

It is not worth it if you don't need to keep track of how long you spend on a large project. I find it too cumbersome to time individual tasks and not useful enough to time just one project.
