Overall Satisfaction with Timely

We use Timely to track our entire team and what they have been up to. This help me as the project manager to ensure we are staying within our time budget. I can also run reports and see performance. This helps us with our utilization number.

Pros

Cons

  • I have to manually add the hex# for colors every time I add a new sub item to a client (that is so annoying)
  • The general UX/UI for admin is rough
  • Helps us stay in budget and make more money that way
  • Helps us see our actual time and can now charge new clients accordingly
For admin its not great but for the team it is fairly straight forward I think. The reports are clunky at times, if I have something pulled up on a tab then go into a different tab and back into the Timely tab, whatever I had up is gone, etc.
We haven't tried many options but obviously it is better than Basecamp because Basecamp doesnt track time.

It helps our team keep track of progress on projects - to see if we are under budget or over or right on track. It helps us see (with tags) all the details of projects and where the teams' time goes (that has been very helpful).
