We use this to scan our storage locations and identify sensitive data. It also helps us determine if confidential information and sensitive data are stored, who can access it, and whether it is protected. It checks these aspects to prevent us from data loss and compliance issues related to our product.

I gave it this rating because Trellix Data Loss Prevention(DLP) Discover does a good job of finding and classifying sensitive data, which helps with compliance and reducing risk. It provides clear value, but some parts—like the setup, user interface, and cloud connections—can be harder to use. Overall, it’s strong but could be easier and more modern.
When I evaluated several DLP products like Forcepoint, Symantec DLP, Digital Guardian, and Microsoft Purview, I found that Trellix Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Discover was the best fit for our organization. It gives me broad coverage across on-prem servers, cloud storage, and endpoints, so I can easily locate and classify sensitive data. I like its centralized management and modular deployment, which let me start with discovery and scale to endpoint or network DLP later. The reporting and compliance features are strong, which helps me with audits and regulatory requirements. While the setup can be a bit complex, I feel its flexibility, scalability, and comprehensive protection make it the right choice.
