Overall Satisfaction with UltraEdit

As a business and marketing manager in our small company, I am the only user of UltraEdit. It is my go-to for text editing. When I want to edit chunks of text, strip them of other coding, or - my heart be still - separate columns, UltraEdit is invaluable. I also use it to access my passwords, so I use UltraEdit daily.
  • Search and replace in files that are not open
  • Cut and paste columns - I don't know any other program that can do this!
  • Is a super fast and powerful text editor.
  • I'd like more free updates.
  • It'd be great to be able to make the text larger more easily.
  • I like UltraEdit so much I'm having trouble coming up with a third area for improvement!
  • I don't have specific statistics, but I know it helps to have a rock-solid text editor at my fingertips!
I used to use Microsoft's Notepad, but it is primitive compared to UltraEdit! A programmer introduced me to UltraEdit a long time ago, and I've used it ever since. It may be overkill for our use, but I've never found another program that has the power I want at my fingertips!
The support is excellent. The only time I've ever had to use it, I got a real person who was able to address my specific needs. Best of all, they beta test updates obsessively, so the software is pretty much bulletproof. This has been true the entire time I've used this program.
This software is deep and wide. It can do a lot of things, and it does them well. It's also pretty easy to understand, with good help screens, if you need them.

Do you think UltraEdit delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with UltraEdit's feature set?

Yes

Did UltraEdit live up to sales and marketing promises?

Yes

Did implementation of UltraEdit go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy UltraEdit again?

Yes

UltraEdit's powerful search function lets you search within a file, but also within files in a folder that are not open. I use it to find something I know is in a folder but can't otherwise locate.

UltraEdit is SO powerful there are many functions I don't use. It might be nice to have a dumbed-down version for people like me who are using it for text but not for coding.
