Overall Satisfaction with Unique Learning System
I use Unique Learning System to support the curriculum I teach in my severe LINKS classroom. I use it for circle time and whole group instruction. The main use I have for Unique Learning System is the SymbolStix feature which I use for a number of applications in my classroom. From visual schedules to PECS boards to adapted books, I use it constantly.

- sorting of books in n2y library (when you go back, you lose original search parameters and have to start over)
- need a go back to beginning feature in books
- saved time on visual materials

- saved time on circle time planning and execution
As this was my first year using Unique Learning System and my first year as a LINKS teacher, I have not had the opportunity to use the assessments and progress monitoring as much as I would like to. I have tried to use the lessons and planning tools, but they are overwhelming in the amount of material that they present. This year, I chose to pick a few aspects of Unique Learning System to focus and hope to add and use more next year.
I made individual PECS boards for all of my students using SymbolStix and this has greatly impacted the manding and requesting in my classroom. It allowed students to have some independence and built on their communication skills.
