I used to offer differentiation in my lessons that aligned with the TEKS for my self-contained classroom. I also use the benchmarks to show the progression of knowledge that was taught from the begining of the lesson to the end as well as show progress of undedrstanding from the beginning of the year, to the middle, and at the end of the school year.

It has taken time to help me plan my lessons by providing me with a variety of activities to use with my students. There are always opportunities to incorporate engagement pieces into my independent living skills. Helped align the stories with relatable events that impact my students by providing stories that correlate with the subject.

The Conflict resolution (unit 25). Many of my students have goals/objectives that align with that unit, and it provides scenarios they can relate to, as well as ties them into lessons that align with the TEKS they are also working on. It gives us opportunities to talk through some of the conflict resolution and how we would respond.
