Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

We use Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 for full backups of Exchange, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Office 365 maintains minimal retention by default.
  • ORG Backups
  • Restores for archiving
  • Managing jobs that hang gets messy, and the solution doesn't seem polished.
  • Logging is just not conducive to troubleshooting, and 9/10 times you have to open a support ticket.
  • Easy solution for archiving on-prem
We needed a better archive solution since Microsoft 365 has nothing, and the process for archiving user data is clunky.
Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is very easy to set up and use. It is far more difficult to troubleshoot issues. Logging does not provide proper information and most likely requires a support call.
We only needed it for archiving and haven't had any other reasoning. Microsoft provides pretty good restore options on the fly.
We archive everything via .zip.

Only used Veeam for O365
The problem is troubleshooting and logging. Support gives workarounds as the logging isn't available. Specifically, if a job is hung you will not know the particular file or status.

Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 is a great product for holding onsite backups of O365 services and archiving purposes.
