Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365

We are using Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 by making a local backup of our emails, our SharePoint sites and our One Drive documents. It addresses the business continuity concern by having our data in multiple locations.

Pros

  • The software was simple to setup and works seamlessly.
  • The restore process is simple as well.
  • I have not had any issues with the software since installing it.

Cons

  • This software only works with a local or external USB drive. It needs to be able to backup to a NAS solution.
  • This product has served as a protection measure and has been able to recover files that were deleted at the mailbox level.
We came to the realization after disabling an account and finding the mailbox was completely removed that we were unable to recover the items.
The software is simple to setup, simple to use.
We have been able to recover items that were deleted either intentionally or by accident and can go back in time to numerous backup points.
We have restored Sharepoint back in place after undesirable changes. We have also exported to PST for testing and archiving, as well as recovering items.
My favorite features are the easy interface where everything is clearly defined. I also like the ability to search specific sites and lists within SharePoint, as well as the ability to search specific user's mailboxes and restore a specific email if needed.
I didn't evaluate any other product. We use Veeam Backup and Replication. I love the product. I did a trial of this software and decided to purchase it.
I have not had a need to call support as of yet. Everything has been easy and working.

The software is well suited for situations where you want added layers of protection for your data by keeping it in multiple places and not just in the cloud.
