Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Backup & Replication
We use it for all of our servers, as well as a DR tool. Every department is using it (although they do not know this) and we routinely restore mistakenly deleted files. We have defeated ransomware with the ability to simply roll the users MyDocs back to the previous day. I was recently trained at the VMCE sessions at VEEAMON2017 in NOLA, and learned even more about this most powerful and easy to use tool.
- You can keep several different sets of data to give the most robust or storage friendly backup abilities.
- You can keep years of backup sets while being incredibly "skinny" on storage use.
- You can create sandbox servers to quickly test a use case.
- Restoring individual files is easy and intuitive.
- Adding new storage could be easier like a browse feature for SAN volumes, etc.
- The virtual networking portion could be easirer to define and use. Non network engineers will struggle.
- The monitoring and alerting can be daunting to set up but is easy to use afterward.
- We are secure and confident in our backups.
- Test restores are fast and easy.
- Hard costs associated with data losses have been eliminated.
- Acronis Backup & Recovery and Symantec Norton (SMB)
The interfaces of other products are often difficult to navigate, and non-intuitive. VEEAM has an engaging and logical flow to it, and the setup of either backups or restores is wizard driven and enjoyable and easy to understand.
