Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
I've used Veeam for over 13 years. I was first introduced to it while working for an MSP to backup all of the virtual machines for ourselves and our customers. I had previously been used to a very popular tape-based backup software and I couldn't believe the difference in technologies. When I moved from an MSP into the role of an IT Manager, the first software I introduced was Veeam for the physical infrastructure and eventually the virtualised infrastructure. It's easy to use and extremely reliable, every update brings better stability a new features as opposed to introducing bugs and issues.
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- NAS filers
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
- Application-centric recovery using Veeam Explorers (for Exchange, SQL, Sharepoint, etc)
- Virtual machine backups
- Instant recovery
- Updating the software internally, rather than finding the external links, downloading etc

Yes
Did Veeam Data Platform live up to sales and marketing promises?
Yes
Did implementation of Veeam Data Platform go as expected?
Yes
Would you buy Veeam Data Platform again?
Yes
6 Virtual servers, 1 Hypervost, 4 physical agent based workstations
- Less time worrying about the reliability of our backups
- Less time managing tapes
I didn't trust the software platform or the backup media with our company data. It often failed with difficult-to-understand errors and very poor support. With Veeam, it's the total opposite.
