Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform
We use Veeam Data Platform to back up our server infrastructure to maintain BCDR.
Pros
- Easy to configure
- Easy to use and verify back ups
- Easy to troubleshoot
Cons
- More robust user interface would be nice
- Better quick reporting options would be beneficial
- Implementation of AI technology may help improve localized troubleshooting
- Virtualized workloads
- Endpoints and physical servers running Windows & Linux
- Cloud-hosted VMs within AWS or Azure
- In addition to back up, we also replicate some of these workloads
- In addition to back up, we also snapshot some of these workloads
- License portability as your environment needs change
- Immutable storage to protect against ransomware
- “Instant” recovery or portability between platforms (physical > virtual > cloud-hosted)
- None of the above
We are currently backing up a small server workload as we are a smaller organization. Roughly 10 servers.
- Peace of mind knowing we have backups
- Allows for integration of a solid BCDR strategy
- The business has trust in the fact we are prepared for disaster recovery scenarios
There was no change that caused us to move to Veeam Data Platform. From my many years of experience I used Veeam products and when I moved into this position I implemented the solution.
We benefit from using cloud functionality in that we have an off premise copy and backup of our servers.
We have benefitted from this in the same way as stated before. The file servers are backed up to a cloud space where we can quickly restore them if needed.
I use them both currently.
