Overall Satisfaction with Veeam Data Platform

Veeam is great! It's super easy to configure backups, and even easier to restore files or entire vm's when there's an issue. It saves a significant amount of time that was previously spent managing backups and handling restores, which can now be allocated to other tasks. I am a fan, and will continue to use Veeam in the future.

We back up a combo of servers, workstations, and disks. In total, we are probably backing up around 25 items, but as a smaller organization, this is a significant portion of our data. All of our servers are virtual, and they are all backed up using Veeam.

  • Haven't had to purchase physical solutions.
Before Veeam, everything was scattered all over the place. We would back up some things to tape, some things to a local drive, and some things using built-in Windows options... A variety of different technologies were used to back everything up, making management difficult and time-consuming.
When our main host hardware failed, we were able to spin up a new host and restore all our VMs onto the new hardware. It was easy to do and brought us back to where we needed to be with minimal effort. We would have been down for days without it.
We aren't currently utilizing this.
Veeam is easy to use, easy to set up, and easy to integrate into an environment.

When a user has deleted something from a shared drive, there is no easy way to recover it. There is no recycle bin for shared drives, so anything deleted is permanently gone. Without Veeam, it would be a lengthy process involving multiple third-party software applications to attempt file restoration. With Veeam, it is fast and easy.
