Overall Satisfaction with Vertex

We use Vertex Cloud for US sales tax transactions.

Pros

  • Consulting arm if very helpful especially in year 1 and 2
  • I like the portal for everything reporting
  • Their billing process is seamless

Cons

  • Missing macro reporting options- each taxpayer has its own report set
  • Sales summary if woefully difficult - have to filter city county out of data in transactional files
  • dashboard not useful because we dont use Vertex returns, but it would be valuable for tracking our own work on returns
  • Vertex was open to retooling our business and worked with us to get [...] the best product for our unique US sales tax footprint.
  • The continued support from Vertex consulting has been amazing. Especially [...].
  • The ongoing support from the customer success team has been amazing. Especially [...] and [...].
The state of Alabama recently eliminated the state tax on our products, yet continued to require us to collect and remit state and local taxes. Vertex was ready with jurisdictional changes as they happened in real time in Alabama as the cities either coupled or decoupled with the states tax treatment.
Vertex mirrors are group template for Oracle. As we add more retail stores, they are tailored into the Vertex framework easily.
We are looking forward to audits in the new Vertex space. I expect the reports to been seamless and much easier to compile in future periods.

Vertex Cloud is very well suited for a multistate retail operation with our taxability matrix. Our [...] footprint is far reaching and the compliance for zero tax due returns would be impossible without Vertex
